Afroriginal

A contemporary African fashion label. Not inspired by Africa — born from it.

We are starting small, with considered pieces printed to order. Every collection moves us closer to garments designed, cut and made in South Africa.

Meet Zola

Tradition, on a Saturday in Joburg.

Zola is the first Afroriginal character: beaded headband, beaded collar, hoodie and clean sneakers, with a handful of jacaranda picked up on the way. Heritage worn lightly, the way it is actually worn.

Find Zola on the Zola Tee and, embroidered small, on the Zola Bucket Hat.

The story

Starting small. Building something bigger.

Afroriginal began with a simple conviction: Africa is not a trend to borrow from. It is contemporary, inventive and constantly moving — and it deserves fashion that comes from here.

Our first pieces are deliberately simple. The graphics carry the ideas: the words that started the brand, the contour lines of the land, the coordinates of home.

Designed in Africa. Made in Africa.

Our collections are printed to order for now. The ones that follow will move, piece by piece, towards our own silhouettes, fabrics and local production.
